DIY Face Mask

Welcome to my first blog post EVER!  I thought I would start it off with something that I always like searching for in other people’s blogs…A DIY face mask!

Face mask time! (probably was already on too long at this point)
Face mask time! (probably was already on too long at this point)

This is a little concoction I came up with and super love:

2 Tbsp rose water
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar (Bragg’s is the BEST)
1 tsp vegetable glycerin
1 tsp aloe vera gel
2 drops geranium essential oil (I use Aura Casia)
2 drops tea tree oil (Aura Casia is my favorite)
1 Tbsp coffee grounds
2 Tbsp Bentonite clay (Aztec Secret Indian Healing Bentonite Clay is a favorite)

Grab a bowl that is not metal (the bentonite clay absorbs metals, and therefore becomes less effective). With a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, mix everything together, except the coffee grounds and clay. Once that mixture is well combined, you can add in the coffee grounds. It should be the texture of smearable mud! If yours is too wet, add a little more clay until you are happy with the consistency. If your mixture is too dry, add some water, a half teaspoon at a time, until you reach the right smearable texture. Leave on for 10 min, no longer! This mask helps your skin feel smooth, heals acne, and removes impurities. Put this in a container with a lid and place in the fridge for up to two weeks. I usually use it a couple times throughout that time, but that may be a little much for somebody with very sensitive skin!
